This Saturday on the 28th of April 2018, I went to Coolest Projects UK, organized by Raspberry PI foundation in Here East, Stratford London. It was a long journey and the weather was very cold, but I was very excited to show my project to everyone. The event organizers registered and provided all the participants with a shirt and a lanyard with our name and projects name on them. Then, I was allocated to a table with my name and my project name on.Next to me, was a team of children that had made a Zombie Apocalypse project.
There were four categories which included web pages, scratch, hardware and mobile applications. Many children took part in those categories. There were four brilliant Science Shows, I had the chance to attend two of them, hosted by Greg Foot and Neil Monteiro, who were the Science presenters. I also got to see 3D printers, speech to text machines and a camera that can recognize when you say cheese and many more, displayed by different companies on their stalls.I also got to meet our Code Club UK people Sarah, Lucie and Dave and many other people.
I have entered for the Hardware category, with my project of “Robotic Pet”.The theme of my project was about reducing screentime of children by providing a pet robot that can entertain. It has two different functionalities.Firstly, it can follow using color recognition with the help of Pixycam.Secondly, depending on the color it sense, it changes the sequence of the tunes using color sensors.
After presentation and judging, at 3:00 pm the Award ceremony was held.It was hosted by Greg Foot.Avye won in the Hardware category for her very cool project. We all received gift bags that contain a Pin scale, a Blinkt and many other things.I had a great time over there, had lots of fun.I have learned a lot of things from all my new friends over there.
Now, with my new Blinkt gift from Coolest Project, I am working on something which I will share with you all soon.
