How muddy marshes can stop Global warming

"Muddy marshes" , could be the key to decrease carbon in the air ,which means stopping global warming. But , how do muddy marshes have the ability to store the carbon in the air?. Well , when the plants that are over there die, they decompose, still they don't let out the carbon. In contrast, other plants release all of the carbon stored in them into the air. The more water that goes on the marsh, the better it will store the carbon, because when it washes over ,then it gets a new layer to keep more carbon and keep the one that is already there stored. There are also some threats to these marshes, like sea walls, which stops the marshes from adjusting to how high the sea level is, which also means that it can't store as much carbon , if people stop putting up sea walls , then it will be great for the marshes. It can also be great for the environment. The reason for this is that if it can reduce global warming , then it could mean cleaner air , preserving cor

Green Dragontail Butterflies

The "Green Dragontail Butterfly” ,is an amazing butterfly .They are from the  species of Swallowtail butterfly. It is a small butterfly , because its wingspan is around 40 to 55 millimeters. It is found in Northeastern India , Myanmar , Thailand , Laos , Vietnam , Southern China and many more all around the world .They are in the category of endangered species .Among the smallest of the butterflies in India , they are normally found in sunlit patches near rivers, or streams. Unlike , the other butterfly species , they have the ability to  suck up water with dissolved minerals and filter out the excess water .Their eggs are green , spherical , smooth and near transparent , which is all of the things that are related to the eggs of other Swallowtail butterflies .The colour of the caterpillars bodies , are green with black dots .They normally fly in groups of two three and they can fly at an altitude of  one-hundred to one-thousand five hundred and twenty meters.

Bornean Flat Headed Frog

"Bornean Flat Headed Frogs" , are unique species of frog.Their bodies are flatter, than all  other species of frog but that is not what makes them truly , amazing. The thing that makes  them the mostunique frogs in the world , is they don’t have lungs and use their skin to  breathe. They are found in Kalimantan, the Indonesian part of the island of Borneo and  they have another species in the Phillipenes. They are very rare . Due to , illegal gold mining and logging , their habitat is being polluted and destroyed, because of this , now they are declared as an endangered species  and if people do not take care, then they will become completely extinct.

Fun facts about Moon

The Moon is the only natural satellite of the Earth. A satellite is an object that is circling around a planet like an object or an asteroid. It is a theory that the moon was created , after a planet Mars sized asteroid collided with the Earth , which caused the debrie to bind and turn into the Moon . The orbit of the moon is an oval shape and not a circle .   That's why , when Moon comes closer to Earth due to it's oval orbit , "Supermoon " is observed. The Moon , orbits the Earth every 27.3 days . "Mons Huygens" , is the highest mountain on the moon and is approximately half the height of “Mount Everest”. Mount Everest is 8848 meters . The Moon , has many different phases , like "New Moon", "Crescent"," First quarter", "Waxing Gibbous", "Full Moon", "Waxing Gibbous", "Last quarter", "Crescent", "New Moon" etc. A Lunar ecli

Lunar Eclipse 2018 - Fun Facts

On 27  July 2018, there will be a longest total lunar eclipse ,  during which  the moon appear a lot bigger and also red.And the eclipse can be seen for the whole one hour.                                                 So ,what causes  the moon to turn red?.This question baffled scientists for many years , but with new technology, it has been discovered that the moon turns red , when the earth blocks the light coming from the sun to the moon , it casts two shadows called the penumbra and umbra shadow .                                                                                                                                   The penumbra gives of a blue light that deflects the red colour to the umbra which is the darkest shadow , since no light gets to moon , the deflected red colour cast a red colour on the moon. If the moon keeps on going round and round the earth then we should get a lunar eclipse every month.Instead , we get a lunar eclipse once every year. Why

Facts About Thames Barrier

The Thames Barrier which was built in 1984, protects Central London from tidal surges in the North Sea.                                                         It protects 125 sq km or 48 sqm of Central London. The Thames barrier was built, because of the Thames flood in 1928. The Thames river flooding destroyed lots of properties and 14 people lost their lives in the flood. So, the Environmental Agency came up with the idea of the Thames Barrier and its construction started in 1974. It is predicted that even with heavy rainfall and rising tides due to climate change it will still be able to protect London from flooding until 2070. There are three positions of the Thames Barrier to let the river water flow in a controlled amount.                                         1- The "Underspill position", of the barrier allows a controlled amount of water to go under the barrier, this position is used when tides get too
